We used the better half of March to build our kitchen cabinets in the shop. It was still really cold and snowy, and so we thought it would be a better use of time. We usually find it a sin to paint natural wood (especially ash), however we had already decided on using walnut butcher block countertops and a white fireclay apron sink. We really thought the kitchen would need a splash of color. Within five minutes, we decided on a sage green and later stumbled upon some white and red porcelain knobs that offset the green perfectly. We couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. Can’t wait to see them in the house!
It’s mid-April now, and there’s still no signs of spring. We are back outside working on getting 1″ foam on the exterior of the building and just beginning to frame out the facia and eave details. The grounds are a muddy mess!
