4 Months of Renovations

It’s been four months since we purchased a little ranch straight from the 1960s! It’s amazing to see just how much we’ve accomplished in that short amount of time, including (but not limited to)…

• landscaping (the backyard was a jungle with overgrown weeds and brush)

• stripping off the old shingle siding

• removing wall sheathing and replacing old insulation with Roxul

• tearing down the old 1-car garage

• completely stripping the roof down to the rafters and reinforcing them (with a truss-like structure)

• covering the roof rafters with new ZIP board

• removing everything from the basement (including the old staircase, ducting, wires, gas pipes, furnace, hot water heater, and old electrical panel)

• removing all interior trim, doors, windows, and 2 interior walls to open up the living room and kitchen

• installing all new wiring and electrical panel and feed

• building a new master suite where the old garage was

• excavating and building a 2.5 car oversized attached garage

• furring out the old 2×4 walls to add extra insulation (Roxul)

• replacing all the windows

and then sheetrock, paint, flooring, etc… and here’s where we are now!
